Kenwood 10" 500-Watt Subwoofer $37

Not being very versed on speaker tech... how good is this deal? Will I need any additional items to get this to work?

you need a box for the speaker, an amp for it to work... and it depends on what kind of deck you have.. how easy it is to install.. etc..

I agree with Willpower. In addition you need a amp kit which include cables, fuses, screws/bolts and such so you can power up your sub. I've installed a whole car system with my cousin before and before you do anything like wiring, you have to know exactly what you are doing or you can cause damage to your sub, amp, yourself, etc.

Relating to the box, you can get one for very cheap if you want only a sub installed. I recommend a closed box so you can get deeper base vs a open ended box.

Oh yeah, I recommend "dynamat" to reduce rough vibration on the trunk.
