Lots of people might scoff at Kodak digital cameras since Kodak doesn't have a great track record yet. I recently bought one of their cameras similar to this one, it was the DX6490. All around it was a terrific camera. The pictures it produced were stunning. I say give Kodak a try. But I should also note I just returned my Kodak EasyShare DX6490 because the software that comes with it is buggy as all get-out. Specifically, the driver that interfaces with the camera. The actual photo editing and such software seemed fine. But when pulling pictures off of the camera or even just switching directories when looking through the camera in explorer when trying to get to the pictures, it would completely lock up whatever process was touching the camera with no way to kill it off. Eventually it would suck up 100% of my CPU and the only solution was to reboot. I value my uptime very highly, and the camera was not cheap (well over twice the price of this deal with memory card and such) so I chose not to tolerate that. I'd bet this camera uses the same software, so be forewarned. But if the software works for you, I'm sure this would be a great camera.

I've been using digital kodak cameras ever since digital cameras became popular. I've always wanted to buy canon digital cameras but always ended up buying Kodak cameras. Kodak cameras does everything a canon digital camera can do, and its price always win me over. The only beef I have with Kodak cameras are the shell is too plasticky, but I don't abuse my camera, it's fine with me. As for the docking, I agree w/ OtakuCODE. The first time I bought mine with a dock (a kodak 2 mp), I had locking problems. Returned the dock and just used the USB cable that came with the camera and it works fine. I now own a Kodak 3mp camera for a year now and I love it!
This is a great deal. If I lost my camera, I would definitely buy this.
