While that is certainly a geat price I would recommend the Panasonic 42PZ80U or *85U. You will pay close to $1000 for it but you will not regret it. And Plasma is the way to go until OLED becomes affordable in 2 or 3 years.

I can't say I know a ton about TVs, but I think it is pretty universally approved to say you want a 1080p (pixels) over a 720p TV. 720 is getting outdated; this model is 720p, and that is the first spec that I check to determine if it is even worth looking into any further. So to answer: I would say no, just YESTERDAY (lol) I got a 1080p 46" Sanyo at Walmart for $799. Keep your eyes open this month for good deals as the holidays come.
