LG VX8500 Chocolate Phone /w Verizon for $74.99 After Rebate

Amazon.com is offering the LG VX8500 Chocolate Phone /w Verizon Wireless service for only $74.99 shipped after rebate.

This is only for new service with a 2 year contract.

Verizon's website has this phone for $149.99

- Amazon Price : $124.99
- Rebate Price : -$50.00
Final Price : $74.99 Shipped After Rebate

So if I have a $100 New Every Two credit - does that mean that I make $25 on the deal?

Or am I reading this wrong?

**edit** I think I'm wrong - since you're buying the phone from Amazon, and not from Verizon, I don't think you can use the New Every Two credit...

Verizon doesn't use sim either, so if you switch there's no way of unlocking the phone and use w/ another service!!

I think this part is the key...

Well with Verizon, all the great deals for "new 2-year agreements" also apply to you if your contract has expired, because you're getting a new contract. Basically, it's for new contracts, not just for new customers.

In this case, i think it's more that Amazon is getting your money, not Verizon, hence the New Every Two credit wouldn't apply.

I'm still gonna go to my Verizon store and ask, just to be a smart-aleck ;)

And then I'll probably buy the phone, 'cause it looks really sweeeet :D

How is it possible that they would realease a phone that is $400 retail without speaker. Hmm this must be wrong. =(
I'm afraid it's true - there's no speakerphone feature on this one. Not sure why, but...

(i've been doing way too much research on this phone lately)

Time for you guys to get on the move and move towards GSM. Better phones, worldwide usage.
