LightScribe DVD burner

Does the LightScribe DVD burner requires any special DVD[blank ones] ?

It doesn't sound like you have to have anything special

yeah, you have to have a special disk that is gold on the top. It has a lead layer on it.

I believe it does need those special lightscribe discs only if you intend to imprint a design on the top of the disc, other than that, you can use regular discs.

Anyone had any hands on experience on this burner ?. I like the idea of ditching the marker pen for good.

I have a LightScribe Burner but until the price of the blank DVR R's goes down below a dollar a piece. I think I will be sticking with my trusty Sharpie.

I use it for blank cds, but not dvds. I like it.

Nope, it does it by a laser. The top layer of the cd it made out of led

That's cool. When I burn a coaster I let my baby play with it and put it in her mouth.
