A line in the Terms and Conditions of a rebate coupon from iConcepts products reads:

"Limit ONE rebate per person, receipt, household, family, address or purchaser per item"

The rebate coupon had wipes, mouse, and surge protector, listed for the same promotional date. All these items I wanted to get, but after reading the line above, I wasn't sure if I would get my money back for each item. It's seems like I can only get ONE rebate, for one item, not individual rebates or a total rebate for all items.

How do you read this?

I think I'll just go for the mouse.

Iconcepts = Sakar

Avoid them like the plague. While I genuinely like the rebate company RSC (aka easierrebates.com ) that handles their rebates, and have a fair raport with someone there, Sakar/Iconcepts rebates have a grossly dispreportionate amount of problems.

And when the rebate form says original receipt, they REALLY DO mean the original receipt. Sakar/Iconcepts also does not allow resubmissions in the event your submission is lost/screwed up, nor will they reissue a check in the event it is lost.

Yeah, that original receipt sh*t kills me. I'm starting to learn though ... if I really really really want a rebates/products, I must start buying separately, so I can get individual original receipts for each.

Hmmm, I think I'll start making this the norm now, even if the rebate coupon doesn't ask for an orignal receipt. Seems easier for me, in the end, even if it might piss off the cashiers.

Well, over time you learn, and honestly most of the time it says original, they'll take a copy anyway, depending on who is handling the rebates. For example, every Kingston rebate I've ever seen from officemax.com says original receipt, but the rebate goes to Miami FL which is Parago (rebateshq.com) and they always take a clear copy. Pretty much any rebate going to Miami FL for that matter will accept a copy even if it says original. Same holds true for the majority of rebates handled by easierrebates, even Best Data rebates. Best Data, when they used to handle rebates on their own, were kinda pricks about that, but since RSC has been handling the rebates a clear copy has worked fine a couple times.

Sakar just happens to be one of the few who are really really picky to the point of being a pain, since lotsa folks do orders online and only have one "original" receipt. Besides, with requiring the original UPC, that eliminates the ability for anyone to commit fraud anyway. Whenever I ask officemax to mail me more original receipts, they either don't or they don't show up for weeks.

So, you learn which rebate centers are easier to deal with than others, who to avoid, who are very reliable, etc, and it gets much easier over time. Of course, make copies of everything you send in, namely the upc, rebate receipt, packing slip, etc. As for buying in store, they are supposed to give you rebate receipts for each item eligible for a rebate, in addition to the one general store receipt, and that original rebate receipt is all you need for the rebate for a given item. So you don't need to check each item out separately since you'll get original rebate receipts for each item.

About those rebate receipts-- make sure you get them before leaving the store. On Monday I went to Office Max to get 4 things that were to be free after rebate, but I only got a rebate receipt for one. I didn't realize this untill I got home. Office Max is in a different town than I live in, so in order to get the rebates for these items, I had to drive all the way back to that other town a few days later. So anyway, I learned the hard way to pay careful attention to the rebate receipts you're given. When I went back to the store, the clerk said, "oh yeah, I think the registers are finally printing rebate receipts now." So I guess other people probably had the same problem as me. I hope somebody can learn from my mistake though.

Oops I forgot about the original question-- I think you can get a rebate for every item, since it says "per item" at the end. Happy rebating!

Oh yes, you can, technically, but if ya'd read the nasty problems folks over at FW have ran into time and time again with sakar/iconcepts, well, you gotta better chance of getting that dvd burner from OD for $4 the other day than having a pain free submission process involving multiple sakar items ;)
