Linksys Wireless-B Cable/DSL Router for $19.56 Shipped After Rebate

Why does this "b only" router continue to sell for such a high price? It's ancient by tech standards.

Beacuse...

It is a solid performer, does what most people need (share Cable/DSL, provide 4 10/100 ports, and includes wireless (that is faster than nearly any home broadband service).

I think the real answer is, though, that this unit is used by some cable companies and telcos as their "free" router, and their contract probably specifies a certain discount of list price...

Remember, this is the Linksys router that is usually *always* available for about $20 (after rebate) somewhere - that's not very exp. at all...

A "B" router for this price is NOT HOT. Yes, this can almost keep up with most decent broadband connections. But for people who have a home network and want to share files, the wireless is totally inadequate.

Since "G" models can be found for about the same price, why bother with this one?
