Mac OS X version 10.6 Snow Leopard Upgrade for $25 Shipped

Amazon.com has the Mac OS X version 10.6 Snow Leopard for slightly cheaper than the Apple store.

Apple Price : $29.00

1. Amazon Price : $25.00 Shipped
2. (Recommended) Add anything from Amazon to get the total over $25 and get free shipping

Its $30 from Apple with free shipping and it says delivered on Friday the 28th.

It will not necessarily be delivered on the 28th. It ships on the 28th. Also, if you bought a new Mac after June 8, you can get it for $10.

Apple's low upgrade price shames Microsoft's pricing. Kudos to Apple!

Last time I checked Windows XP SP1, 2, and 3 were free.

They did the same for their iPod Touch

Just as a heads up though, because a couple of people I spoke to didn't know this:
If you want to upgrade from Tiger (10.4) to Snow Leopard (10.6) Leopard is 10.5) it's going to cost you about $130. $30 is if you're going from Leopard -> Snow Leopard.

It's alright though, I ordered Snow through Amazon, thanks Spoofee!

Service packs are quite a bit different than a full-blown OS...Microsoft would have been hanged if it charged for those.

from wikipedia:
"Mac OS X v10.6 "Snow Leopard" was released on August 28, 2009. Rather than delivering new functionality, as did versions in the past, Snow Leopard focuses on stability and performance improvements with major new technologies aimed at software developers."

in other words it's a Service Pack.
