From what I can tell the $50 rebate requires a UPC code from this saw as well as a specific saw blade. There may be a blade included but I doubt it has the UPC on it required for the rebate. The blade they want you to buy is an additional $60 or so.

Yes, you do need to purchase a separate saw blade for the rebate. I'm debating this move though. I like the Forrester blades.
