Will the card in this deal fit a pci slot and allow me to use a SATA even though my motherboard only has ide ports?

Thanks

Its 8mb. 16mb are on the way so thats why these are cheaper.

The final price is actually $69.94 not $66.94 as the headline suggests (obviously a typo). Too bad there aren't any Staples coupons to use.

I was going to hold off on another hard drive, but the fact there was no mail in rebate required and it came with a SATA PCI card was just enough incentive. I have no plans to use SATA drives (as they are more expensive), but according to Maxtor's site the SATA card also has 1 Ultra DMA 133 port for 2 EIDE hard drives and I could use that on my system to get a 5th EIDE device.

One time a 160 GB HD gave me lots of trouble with data corruption on a VIA chipset, and another time I forgot to add the EnableBigLba setting in the registry and lost all my data when I wrote past 137 GB, but hopefully this Ultra DMA 133 drive will work fine going through this SATA/UDMA card.

Yes :) Ultra ATA/133 and SATA/150 PCI combo card will make it so you can use Ultra ATA/133 or SATA/150 harddrives on most ( I would say ANY, but not sure ) motherbaords as long as it has an PCI slot.

anyone have the model # to this? i think i got in before it was out of stock, but haven't gotten a confirmation e-mail just yet.
