I was thinking the same thing. McAfee is awful. Luckily we get Trend Micro free with high speed internet through our provider. I am actually very impressed and satisfied with it.

I never use mcafee. For free AV, use AVG or avast.
I use NIS 2009, pretty good. For strongest protection, use kaspersky.

I use AVG at home and Comodo for some clients since it doesn't have a yearly license that expires.
