Memorex 2GB USB TravelDrive for $23.94 After Pricematch YMMV

Circuit City has a good deal on the Memorex 2GB USB 2.0 Travel Drive.

Pricegrabber Price : $92.99 ~ $229.99 Shipped

1. Print this page and also find a Staples near you that has this item in stock. Printed price shows $99.94 with no rebates.
2. Click here and choose to pickup in-stores ( Item Price : $159.99 )
3. When you pick up in-stores, show the printed page for a pricematch. If they point out that the print states the item is out of stock, tell them the store/phone # that has it in stock. ( Pricematch : -$66.05 )
4. Rebate Price : -$40.00
5. Rebate Price : -$30.00
Final Price : $23.94 After Pricematch and Rebates

I know this isn't as good as a deal as posted, but just in case you are in need of this and can't get this deal it appears AMAZON has it for $94.99 with a $25 rebate if purchased by 02/16/06 makingit $64.99, free shipping and no tax.

AMAZON

I'll see if I can swing this at CC, my son would love it!

Im curious if I can swing this myself, since I dont have a Staples in my area. I just bought a car stereo with an SD slot and a USB port. This would be awesome for loading with music from someone else's collection while at their house..

Do they price match before the rebate?

I understand that CC/Best Buy etc. price match after deducting the rebate or special offers they are giving - do they price match before the rebate? Is there a definite price match rule that they need to follow?

CC usually throws away the rebates when you pricematch, but these are available on the web for printing and then submission.

I'm going to give it a try this afternoon...I called my Staples, but it is listed as 159.99 in the store. I guess you have to tell the CC clerk that Staples will match the Staples.com price if they tell you it is more at the store.

I tired price match at two different CC in NJ before on the Memorex 512MB USB Travel Drive from Office Depot that was posted here a few weeks ago and they told me that it is based on net (after rebate) sales price and therefore they would not price match it.

The price at Staples isn't after rebate so we should be good. They are straight selling it at 99.94. I will try at CC in PA later today after work. If it works I'm going to have my GF go in and buy it right after me at the PM price.

i was able to PM that last time when CC had the deal with the 512 MB USB drive

Let me know if you are successful. Sorry about the confusion, what I meant was that with the rebate at CC, if it is either the same price or cheaper than the competitors, then they won't match it. So basically, if you buy it at CC and after deducting the rebate and if it is cheaper than Staples, they will not match it. This was my experience last time.

My personal experiences with PM's and CC - not a single time have I ever had a problem.

I guess YMMV depending on what store and how hard headed the store manager is, but you'd think the policies would be the same everywhere.

I'm going to try tomorrow AND I'm going to try and see if I can use the $10 off coupon that expires tomorrow as well - I'm pushing the envelope, aren't I ;)

I ordered online from Circuit City last night and used the $15 discount. It is getting shipped to my house for free. I went into Circuit City today with the Staples print-out and my Circuit City email "reciept" and Customer Service pricematched it +10% with it being returned to my credit card. It couldn't have been easier!

Hold the phone...wheres this $15 coupon??????

Oops, my mistake, it IS a $15 coupon. :D

I got it after the holidays, it was next to the one that ended on 1/15/06.

FYI, so CC doesn't see that the item shows being out of stock when you go to print.

STAPLES

It will show only MEMOREX DRIVES 1GB and over and it doesn't show quantity in stock, hopefully, it will help somewhat.

The %$#%^&^ behind the counter actualy went to the website and checked, then added up the difference and denied it because it would be like $5 after the rebate at CC... any ideas or tips?

I saw a recent post where a guy bought 2 of them. He got the price match on the second one because the rebate limit is one per household, therefore you would think they would have to pm the second one. Then return the first one later. Worth a try.

lol thats a funny idea... I just might have to try that if not just to see what happens.

Um, so where is this $15 coupon? And what price does this drive actually come out to after everything?

Sorry about the coupon confusion...this was posted by Marmess in the other thread:

"here is a code to save you $15 on purchases over $100. It expires feb 5th ... 6UAA5HHANT"

Enjoy!
