I just bought a brand new dvd burner that supports all the common formats. My question is, should I buy dvd+r or dvd-r media? I heard that dvd+r is slightly cheaper but that dvd-r is slightly more compatible in dvd players.

Also, I saw 100 pack of Linkyo 8x dvd+r's on supermediastore.com for 25 bucks. Is Linkyo a trusted brand?

ive never burned a coaster on my memorex

usually the rule is data u want +R and video u want -R

but ive used both types of media for both purposes...so go with whichever but i recommend the memorex :D

even for $30, not worth it... CompUSA frequently has 100 pk. of Store Brand DVD-R for.... $19.99!!!! no rebates. lol. iguess its good

haha, I had those comp usa dvd disk. They're great for like data backup, but sucks big time on dvd players. I always go with 100pk Ridata, $37 something at newegg after rebate. They always have these deals poping up.

I just bought a 100-spindle of Velocity DVD+Rs off of Amazon for $26.99-- free shipping. The Dell Inspiron I picked up during the $750 off special says DVD+R is the recommended format for best compatibility across different devices.

back in stock, but now $33.99 instead of $29.99
