The replacement power cords are designed to protect consumers and their Xbox consoles from rare electrical component failures that can pose a fire hazard."

You will need your Serial Number and Manufacture date to verify if your Xbox Console requires a replacement cord. This is located on the bottom of your console.

Microsoft is giving away replacement power cords for all xbox owner that have an xbox manufactured b4 Oct 23 2003. You need your serial number and manufactured date. They are replacing this due a recall. They found out that 1 in 10,000 units melt the power cord and is a safety issue for u and ur xbox.

Microsoft is providing new power cords at no charge to replace the cords that originally came with some Xbox consoles. You will need your Serial Number and Manufacture date to verify if your Xbox Console requires a replacement cord. This is located on the bottom of your console.
