Nothing I saw specifically mentions what software you can get. Where are the software titles mentioned?

From what I know, I believe when you go there, they have vouchers for it.

I've never been to one but friends have, I don't even know what they're for.

How technical are these seminars? I am thinking of taking my development team to this.

ts2 serminar was pretty good. There was a good question answer part and they gave our free mountain dew :). it is worth it if you can get off work for it. But the catch for getting the software is that you have to be a partner with microsoft. I am not one but I signed up to be one and ordered my copy of office 2003 but still have not recieved it yet and that was back in early dec. hopefully it will come soon. :theyareon

Thanks for the input,

We develop any software or software integration that the plant we work for needs. It ranges from automation control systems to ERP systems.

After looking at microsofts site. It seems like I should be looking at the MSDN seminars.

one nice thing they did offer was a full 5 client liscense for small buisness server that you can resale. that was a good thing if you were looking to hook up a small buisness on the side and make some good money alone off that.

Hmmmm....I tried to sign up several times and keep getting a "Technical Difficulties" screen. This happened yesterday, too.

The best way to get free software at these seminars is to chat up the Microsoft reps after the demo. If you work for a company that buys a lot of Microsoft software, or they get the idea that you might be a lucrative new customer, you can get some nice stuff. At conventions I've gotten copies of Server 2000, Advanced Server 2000, MS SQL, etc.

It does work

I went to the first show (in Hartford, CT) back in the beginning of Oct 2003. At the very end they give you a voucher and a cheezy T-shirt. On the voucher is a link with a code. You go to the link, enter the code (and your mailing address) and they send you the CDs. It took two and a half months, but we got our full licensed copies of Office 2003 Pro (and One Note 2003) in the mail. like many of the recent MS products it makes you register the software during installation (unlike the MSDN version), but its free and a legal copy. So I wont complain :)

I went to TS2 this week in Arkansas and they didn't question any of us at all concerning the legitimacy of why we were there. There was even a guy there with his kids and they were each given surveys too (which you had to turn back in to get the voucher). I didn't stick around long enough to see if the kiddos got the free software though. All in all, it wasn't too painful.
