Ok so I have seen this Miracle Putty commercial on TV so many times with that guy screaming in my face to buy some, I just wonder what you all think about the stuff? It claims to fix a leaky pipe, tow a 20 millionty ton truck or something and then I saw someone putting their mailbox on the post with this miracle putty stuff, so Faerie, I say you get some, cement that mailbox of yours on the post and if the neighbirhood hooligans knock it off again, sue the company for a new mailbox! I mean the stuff claimed to hold that huge truck in tow, so a little old mailbox shouldn't be a problem, right? I say ditch the ducktape and grab some miracle putty,.... and legal papers

So what do you all think of that stuff, do you really think it would work like it says?

It's an epoxy putty, the stuff's been on the market for years under various names. It will do a lot of things, probably including everything big mouth Billy Mays says it will do.

Wonder if it would hold his yap shut?

Probably not. His mouth would be all wet and the epoxy could never dry. Besides, its probably never closed long enough to let the epoxy set in the first place.

You dont have to order it from TV, though. You can buy epoxy putties at pretty much any local hardware store, automotive store, etc. Heck, even Wal-Marx has it.

Buy JB Weld. It's a 2 part that fixes anything. It's been around for about 30 years and really works as a "cold weld". It sets up in 24 hours but if you can't wait they also have JB Quick. Not quite as tough but tough enough. For average fix jobs I use 5 minute epoxy or the stuff that's a stick and you cut off and knead. Superglue is good for some things and Gorilla Glue is excellent. And of course, don't forget Elmers, rubber cement and Restickable Glue Stick (makes anything a post-it). I'd pass on library paste.
