Missing posts

Do posts get randomly deleted sometimes? Do we get notified if one of ours gets deleted? I ask because I am looking for a few posts and they have disappeared (the thread is still there, just missing posts). Does the post number count in the thread adjust itself if posts are removed, or will there be missing numbers in the thread? I am terribly confused.

What thread? Post are removed for many different reasons would need more information.
The post count will change if a post has been removed.

Just to clarify, the post count will only change if a post is removed from a non-Off Topic thread (translation: Off Topic post never count towards post count).

Please post the thread here and we'll try to unconfuse you.
