What the difference between a normal XBox 360 and an Elite version besides the black color?

Differences between the Elite and Premium are:
1. HDMI output
2. 120 gig HD
3. quieter DVD Rom drive
4. Supposedly cooler even though it still uses the 65mm core.
5. Black

Those are the main differences. For those who have a 360 premium, this would be a dumb upgrade unless you do a lot of downloads or need HDMI. For anyone looking for a new 360, this is the one to buy. The above differences are worth the $80 difference.

an HDMI port and instead of a 20GB hard drive, you get a 120 GB hard drive. I was thinking of getting this, but I really don't need HDMI yet.

Yeah the discs in the system can get pretty loud, but if you're far away enough from it oh well. The originals overheat so easily and I've had friends who didn't get extended warranties having to eat the money on the systems.

I wonder if they FINALLY attempted to fix the issue with discs scratching so easily, the biggest oversight and pain in the ass of all time. Never had this issue with the ps2 or original xbox. Absolutely ridiculous that they never offered a fix, out of respect to their customers I hope they addressed the issue.

wow...that's well worth the extra $$. It looks much more sleek too. I need this HDMI because the quality is so much better than component (red, blue, green), which is still analog. If the overheat problem is fixed, this is should be a good buy for 1st-time 360-owners. I do plan to buy the PS3 when better games come out. It's a shame that I was originally planning to buy a Wii, but decided that it's too similar to the GameCube to justify he purchase. IMHO.

HDMI & Component will be VERY similar, especially coming from an XBOX360.

Don't waste your money on buying this if you already have an X360. Also one good side of HDMI is of course embedded audio (digital)....Microsoft should've included HDMI on all consoles...how dumb of them to not to.
