Motorola 5.8GHz Cordless Speakerphone /w Caller ID for $29.88 Shipped After Rebate

Amazon has a great price on the Motorola MD671 5.8GHz Digital Expandable Cordless Phone. This phone looks slick and has a 3.5/5 review from 63 Amazon users.

Pricegrabber Price : $73~128 Shipped

1. Amazon Price : $59.88
2. Rebate Price : -$30.00
Final Price : $29.88 Shipped After Rebate

This is a fantastic phone. I initially bought the MD681, which is similar to the MD671, except it includes an answering machine. Here is the funny thing. If you want to buy an additional handset (MD61) for this expandable phone, it costs $60. Instead, I just bought the MD671 (which then cost me $40), and I programmed the handset of the 671 to work with the base of the 681. Voila! An extension that cost me $20 less than buying the MD61.

Love this phone!!!

I second this. I got this phone for my parent's and I love the looks.

I would get this, except I just signed up with SunRocket VoIP and that solved my phone issue (free Uniden phones).

watchout with this phone....incoming calls use 2.4 ghz frequencies and will mess up your wireless networks if you have any

I have a Wireless B router and this phone about 6 feet apart from each other and my internet is solid as a rock. So, pacattack81, your incident may be due to something else...

Also, what do you mean that incoming calls use 2.4gHz frequecies? The frequency has to do with the information being sent from the base of the phone to the phone itself - not with the call coming into the base.

check out the reviews on amazon.com i read through them so that's where i got my info....just sharing what i read from them....at least 3 ppl said it interferes with their wireless network...and one guy said the motorola tech guy says incoming calls run on 2.4ghz frequencies....also you might not have a problem because your laptop or wireless connection may be real close to the router and the interference isnt effected......i remember having 2.4ghz phones in the house and if i was near my router my connection was fine....but if i was 50ft away and on the phone id lose connection each time i used the phone....but hey if it works for you great!

I believe the problem is that the base transmits to the handset at 5.8 GHz, but the handset transmits to the base at 2.4 GHz. So I guess if there is interference with a wireless router the person you are talking to might not hear you as clearly. That's what I got out of it anyway. :banghead:

interesting... more and more things use wireless nowadays (my friend was talkin about creating wireless cable tv in his house) so this interference problem will be gettin bigger and bigger.

anyone know what kind of headset this takes? if you can give a couple of links to amazon.com, i'd appreciate it. thanks.

if they are like most of the recent motorola phones, 2.5 mini jack. i looked for pics and strange enough you cant find any for the jack. i seriously doubt anyone is gonna throw in bluetooth on sub-$100 phones...

come to think of it, i think the only ones bt capable are the uniden clamshells..
