I'm looking for some kind of mouse stylus to use with a laptop and projector setup that I have in my classroom. I use it for powerpoint a lot, but it's hard to type math so I can't use it as much as I would like to. I really need to be able to write out and show work for example problems, so powerpoint only works well on days where there are a lot of vocabulary words and the problems are short.

What I really want is a Smartboard but they're really expensive and I doubt the school system can get me one.

Anyway, has anybody ever used one of these things and would know which kind to recommend?
I'm looking for something kinda like this:

When I was in college, two of my professors used this one for all of their lectures. It was great because they could also save a pdf. file of the notes and then e-mail it to the students who missed class for a legitimate reason. Also nice because the notes were written large enough for everyone to see, and they didn't have to erase anything on the board. Oh, they also had the virtual TI calculators they made large enough so we could see what they were doing...but I'm sure you know all this or you wouldn't be looking to buy one.

As for whether or not its better than the others or not...sorry I don't know about that. My school didn't usually buy crappy equipment for the math department because they asked for so little, so I'd venture an educated guess that its a decent one.

From a student's perspective, I loved it. Their lectures were easier to take notes in than some other professors who wrote too small on the chalkboards or wrote and then immediately erased it!

If you can justify the expense, then maybe your school would spend the money. Just be sure to have a backup plan because at least once a semester the stylus wouldn't work and our prof. would have to go get another.
