MSN messenger V5.0 for mac released

Hello all,
I just found out that microsoft has released the MSN messenger ( now its called Microsoft messenger) for mac V 5.0.
Not much new except for some lame additions. allows people with microsoft communications server installed in their companies to voice chat.
NO VOICE CHAT FOR PERSONAL USE...grrrr..
some other eyecandy and umm..yeah you can also look at the other persons avatar now ( it was not avaliable for V 4.x or below)
 
does anyone prefer this to yahoo messenger? i've tried them all (well maybe not all... but the big 3) and i think yahoo works the best. just my opinion

i use yahoo for mac too and there is no voice there either.
and there are a lot of functions that are present in windoz versions of both yahoo and msn but absent or restricted in the mac versions.

ok.. i'm only kidding... don't want to start a war between the mac vs. pc users LOL

seriously, though, why don't these programs have voice chat for the mac?
 
Sigh. I use a Mac too and I gave up on the Microsoft client a while ago. Microsoft obviously doesn't want to put money into Mac software, although Office 2004 for Mac is pretty cool, but I find that it crashes a lot. I don't really update mine though.

Doesn't do EVERYTHING the real clients do, but I use it a ton and for basic chatting, it works great. When I need voice or file transfer, I go to the real clients.

the messenger clients from yahoo and MS dont come with voice. Adium also does not have voice.. but i use skype for voice chat!

NOOO not skype! Google Talk ALL the way, its the best thing ever created, and I love it
 
I don't really use online voice much. I have a cell phone armed with tons of minutes and SunRocket VoIP with unlimited long distance.
 
messenger for mac 6.0.1 is out , and Oh by the way, it now sync with yahoo users too :)
