I do not get $15.99 a month. ODD! :hmm:

"Just $17.99 a month. Up to 16 DVDs a month. NO LATE FEES!"

Also from the Forbes.com website you posted it also stated...

"Netflix also announced it was cutting its monthly fee from $22 a month to $18. The company had earlier this year raised its fees from $20 to $22."

Another thing to take note of, it is no longer unlimited rentals per month. You can now only rent upto 16 DVDs a month.

Get the Details

Renting Made Easy
With the Netflix 3-at-a-time program you can rent up to 16 DVDs a month. You keep a revolving library of up to 3 DVDs at a time and can exchange them for new available DVDs whenever you want. There are no due dates and no late fees.

Yes the story says from $22 a month to $18 that's why I called it part of the story ;) it seems they went further as I got the 15.99 screen, I wonder why you got a different one then me. I did have to clean out my cookies and rid the whole computer of anything netflix :)

May be at midnight they changed it over to another deal? $17.99 a month 16 DVDs and you pick when signing up what service you want 15.99 or 17.99

I appears that they only have one service now, 3 at a time and no more than 16 rentals a month. Netflix now sucks... LOL

I'm sorry, I took the screen shot so I know I wasn't seeing things. I wonder what happened?

I just looked on my other computer it has the same picture but saying $21.99  well forget netflix.

guess i missed out, waiting for greencine to lower their prices then i will join

I went there too and AI am getting 3 at a time for 17.99 a month up to 10 a month but when I sign in I still get the old packages

For me it says $19.99 for 3 at a time, unlimited number of DVDs per month. oct `6, 2004 at 11:41 pm pacific daylight time.

"Rent All You Want
With Netflix you can rent as many DVDs as you want for just $19.99 plus any applicable tax a month. You keep a revolving library of up to 3 DVDs at a time and can exchange them for new available DVDs as often as you like. The number of DVDs you rent depends on how quickly you watch and return each of your DVDs. "

Stocks Plunged on Friday

Prices went down because stocks dropped on Friday.

The prices are changing as of Nov. 1st.

I called them because my account expires at the end of the week and the rep told me to let my account expire (queues are kept for 90 days after an account is canceled, so I won't lose it), and sign back up on Nov. 1st. She cautioned me not to sign up before then or I would be charged the present higher rate for a month.

This is the FAQ which I found a link to from my account today:

Q: What are the details of your upcoming price decrease? When will my rate change?
A: We are lowering the prices on all subscription programs effective November 1st, 2004.
Our new pricing is as follows:

2-at-a-time, 4 rentals per month: $11.99/month
3-at-a-time Unlimited: $17.99/month
5-at-a-time Unlimited: $29.99/month
8-at-a-time Unlimited: $47.99/month
We will automatically change your billing rate to the new lower price at the time of your November billing cycle. You do not need to contact us to get the new, lower rate.

All members who finish their Free Trial period on or after November 1st, 2004 will automatically receive the new, lower price.

I've heard that the lower priced offers on their home page (available only to new members) are random. You have to clear your cookies and your cache quite a few times before you get offered the $15.99 deal.

I wonder, what is the maximum number of movies you guys rented in a month, using 3-at-a-time program?

The most we did was 10, which is quite good, in my opinion. In Phoenix, technically, the most we can do is about 19 movies (considering 1 delivery day each way and no service on Sat and Sun, although postal still works on Sat).

using 3-at-a-time program, the best I could do was 12 a month.
