The MR814 is very reliable in my experience
Once I had downloaded the latest firmware for someone the thing has not been offline for about 6 months and range is pretty good - router is in office and laptop can be used outside through multiple walls
 
I also have this Router. I got it last month for 24 from Amazon, and I got 2 Wireless USB Adapters. The router is great. Easy to connect and configure, and performs fine. The E-Cost USB adapter is good, it maintains a good signal from the basement to the third floor bedroom where the Router is. The Gigafast FAR USB adapter is not as good, drops signal, and has a poorer conection status. But I recommend the router at that price.
 
watch out

the rebate says, in instruction #1 "Purchase both qualifying items". I called customer service and they said you had to purchase two items to qualify for the rebate. Make sure you note this before buying.

My roomate asked me to look over the form before he bought it, that's how I came across this. I read those forms up and down before I buy anymore, some people can be tricky
