News Story about BAD customers

This story says Best Buy will be cracking down on what they call "demon customers" who only buy stuff on big sales, submit rebates and then return items, or who take up CSR time, and then don't buy anything.

Interesting, I was not aware you can get away with doing rebates on a returned item. I assumed they had a record somewhere that stated if the item was returned or not.

usually no bar code, no refund, only replacement.

About the only thing I can think of if someone does return an item w/o a barcode, the new box will have a barcode. IF the stores forgets to markup the old receipt you could possibly take back the new one at a latter date and get all of your money back. This would be very risky though and I can't see it working every time. But who knows how many bored ppl there are.
