wow, sounds like a good deal. how necessary or these things though? my cousin told me that i shouldn't leave my wii plugged in when i'm not using it because the cpu heats up, while the fan is off.

this fan is not necessary. why add additional noise to a cool system? Although the Wii accesses the internet while it's off, the power consumption is so low that minimal heat is generated. I would not even consider this.

As long as your Wii isn't contained in an entertainment system or on the carpet, it should be fine.
