Are you seeing the same issue too?
I have noticed that some things are qwerky with the new update (like the % not showing up). That could be fiddling with some smilies.

There seems to be a new version of vbulletin coming out today at 3pm pdt.
vBulletin.com is now running on vB 4.0.6

I may quickly push it out
