If you pay attention to the posting above, you will see you need to "GO" to the store or call them to find out if they have it in store! NOT buying it online!!
 
Price for me online shows $1224.73 until I select Store Pickup and select my local store. Then the price automatically changes to $612.01 in my cart. Not going to purchase it myself so haven't completed the purchase, but try that if you're interested.

None of the stores in connecticut have it in stock and they discontinued it online. Too bad, it was a good deal.
 
Ha. I won't never buy another Vaio. They refuse to do anything about that hibernation bug & its been going on for years. There used to be a site about it, vaioshutdown.com

They use cheap caps to monitor heat & so they shut down without warning & won't come back on until you restart.

I guess I was a little too late to pick it up (should have called first!). The OD's near me were sold out.

I spoke with the manager at OD:
According to him, in the past 2 months, the "Ebay mafia" has been "slurping up" all the deals and "selling them on ebay or putting them on the slowboat to somewhere". LOL
 
Yes, the guy fro mthe alexandria, VA one says people have been calling all 2 dozen stores in the DC metro area looking for it.

The guy from a DC area one said approx 100 people have called before me.

...its gone man...way gone.
 
They're out by me too, but I've been reading about VAIO problems (over heating, going into hibernate, having to reboot, etc.) and may avoid them. Any comments?
 
ordered one for store pickup, to be paid in cash. hope they still have one when i get there on monday. living in the middle of nowhere rocks :)
