The Wii wheel has been getting mixed reviews from the gaming critics.
One wheel comes with the Mario Kart game, so, even though this is a good price, some folks may be better served by waiting and evaluating whether they even like the wheel, before getting any additional.

In other news, Mario Kart release date is today. Woo-hoo!

FYI they are on sale for 9.99 everwhere today. All of the Sunday ads in the paper are featuring them. I figure for 10 bucks, we'll try it.

Having been playing it with the wheel for while, here's my take.

Give it at least 5 races to get into the hang of things. Casual players will like it because the classic controller is kinda cramped.

Hardcore players will want the definitive movement associated with the joystick, and probably forget the wheel.

Overall, it's kinda fun to use it.

I'm findng that the wheel is a little small for my hands. (and forget that strap).
I'm going to stick with the wiimote/nunchuck. I might try the GameCube controller just for comparison.

I saw one at best buy for 9.99 too. Thanks for you reviews. Despite the difficulty of getting used to the wheel, I think I'm going to try it. It's a good deal.
