"Should the FBI relax their rules for hiring former drug users?"

Believe it or not 68% of folks said yes. Excuse me, but didn't the camel jockeys just drive a couple of our jets into some buildings lately? I'm sorry, but I want our goverment to be top notch. Drug users is a sign of weakness which is what I'm not willing to compromise. This may sound harsh, but not everyone is FBI material. Ours needs to be clear minded.

lol i think the current and last president of our almighty country are self confessed drug abusers..

Clinton? Yea that goes without saying. For George, you are talking about an alledged arrest in 1972 for cocaine possession which as far as I know of wasn't proven. He may have been a drinker, but I would have taken that up if I was president too.

as would the rest of the country if you were.. :thumbs_do

What are you going to tell me next? .. that Fox News is a more reputable news source than CNN?

Dream on...

speaking of liberal, did anyone see the report on 60 minutes (yeah i know it's my grandpa's show :p) where they interviewed former FBI director Freeh? i could NOT believe what i heard... former pres. clinton apparently called him "that f*ing Freeh" as though "f*ing" was his first name, and didn't like him because he thought he was too much a boyscout!!!
Freeh didn't like having to constantly investigate his boss, but it was his job, and he took it seriously. and now, Freeh has a book that just came out with some serious accusations against clinton. 60 minutes went to ask clinton if Freeh's comments were true.
ok, i'm sorry, but they're asking clinton, who dislikes freeh for being a boyscout, for the truth? puh-leeeez ... that guy's got more skeletons in his closet than i'll see decorating yards while i'm out trick-or-treating with my kids this halloween. watching the show last night reminded me why i don't put it on more often!

hmmm. don't like the name-calling, but i agree that our FBI needs to be clear-minded. you gotta keep in mind who is reading CNN.com, and who actually takes the time to vote in their polls. besides, i'd be willing to bet that most people (including me) don't know the FBI's exact policy regarding hiring former drug users, so they're voting on something they're really uninformed about. hopefully, when it matters, people are a little more informed before they cast their votes. also, it's really easy for some kid or kids to clear their cache and re-vote repeatedly if they really think it'll make a difference to someone. stay strong, don't lose heart, and relax-- it's monday, and rush is back today ;)

Do you know how many drug users (current, not former) are in our military right now? You would be shocked if you were to know the real numbers. As far as the FBI, I think it depends on each individual case. If somebody has smoked pot once or did a line once, no big deal. But if they were an addict (which is a disease mind you) with repeated failed attempts to go sober, then I don't think they should be in our FBI. Like there's no drugs in our government already anyway.

as a side note, since we're talking about liberal and conservative... i was just researching how much caffeine is in the diet rockstar i drink every morning, and i found out the company was founded by conservative talk show host michael savage's son. thought that was interesting... oh, and for the record, all of the rockstar drinks have 150 mg caffeine/ 16oz can

Caffeine is the only pyshcoactive drug in the US without any restrictions on it. Rockstar could put as much caffeine as they want in their drinks.

As far as liberal and conservative, we have the most liberal present in office right now that we've had since FDR. 1/2 of the American people are just too stupid too realize that.

I love liberal presents, especially for my birthday and christmas. FYI, The first president Bush and Bill "did not inhale" Clinton were both more liberal than the current Bush in office.

Here you go clubchick, when one speaks of Clinton's skeletons, you cannot leave out Vince Foster. There's other stuff on this site I had forgotten about. http://users.aol.com/beachbt/

thanks, anarkust, for that link... very interesting stuff. it's too bad they don't continue to update it, as i'm quite confident that although bill's presidency has ended, the scandals surrounding both clintons have not.

news is now written. every single one. whether its from a conservative/liberal
standpoint, its 75% filler, 25% fact. sad but true.
