Despite being "only" 720p, this Panasonic is a very good one. I bought it a few years ago and it holds up very nicely.

I'm curious wy this is a one and a half star "Not a deal" rating?

This is a great TV! I got it for my wife in the kitchen a few months ago at a sale price of $595. At 42" the difference between 1080P and 720P is very hard to discern between five and ten feet (I'd say impossible >10 feet with 20/20). Besides, HD broadcast is 720p or 1080i, DVD is 480p, and (as of last year anyway) I know of no Xbox360 game in native 1080p. Blurays downconverted from 1080p to 720p still look gorgeous!

Wow! I'm also curious to know why this is "not a deal" when it appears to be an awesome deal! The TV is huge plus you get an xbox plus Avatar game?? Sounds like a great deal to me...

Must be a good deal...

I just bought this in Columbus, Ohio. It must be a pretty good deal because there were about 5-6 stores that were sold out of the TV, but I finally found one that had a couple in stock.

Not a bad deal considering I bought $700 worth of B.B. gift cards from the Giant Eagle (regional grocery store) prior to purchasing this - that gave me about $40 in free gasoline...I've already basically sold the xbox on craigslist, which means I just got this tv for about $410

I'd say that's a good deal.
