OMG, $160 for a flash drive?! I realize this is at the upper end of available capacity, but holy cow, even if I bought it, I know I'd be sick in a couple years when this thing is selling for $20.

You can get a 500GB external drive for $100, or a really small portable one that is like 250GB for like $80. I agree with eibgrad - save your $$$ and wait!
 
Yeah, I don't care how much of a sale this is, or how much % off this is. It's still a mega rip-off.
 
You guys are crazy. This is an awesome price for 32GB of flash memory. Sure it will be less expensive in a couple of years, but a couple of years ago a 32GB flash drive didn't even exist. You can't compare this to an external magnetic-media hard drive. The flash drive is smaller, faster, uses less power, and has no movable parts, so is more durable. This 32GB Flash drive would be perfect for the mod some people are doing to the eeepc where they build the flash drive right into the laptop to get a large solid-state memory capacity. Build it into an 8GB eeepc and you have 40GB of storage. That's just amazing for that price.
 
Faster access time, maybe, but definitely not faster write speed.
 
An external HD is great but it's not 'pocketsize' - unless you feel that a big square/rectangular bulge is hip.

In addition, Flash Memory doesn't have any moving parts. So, if you drop it from 3-5 feet, it'll still work. Sure, you can take it and throw it as hard as you can toward the ground - - and it will break. But so will an external 2.5" or 3.5" USB drive.

The last time I saw a 32GB USB flash drive for sale, it's price was greatly reduced... to $2800. $160 is an amazing reduction from that, and comparable to 4 8GB USB flash drives or 8 4GB USB flash drives.
 
Great price @ $160? Uhh..., it's already dropped to $134 @ Newegg (w/ code EMCACABF) as of today. Since Newegg doesn't guarantee its prices (unless you're willing to beg and grovel), everyone who jumped on this (ahem) great deal (ahem) @ $160 just got screwed.

I told ya, this thing is grossly overpriced, just wait it out.
