<RANT> FORCING **ALL** sellers to accept ANY FORM OF PAYMENT (that is, the evil credit card clause which FORCES personal accounts to Premier with the recieving fees on ALL transactions when you receive a Credit card payment that you want to collect). Any seller stating that credit cards are not accepted will be repremanded by eBay/Paypal for not wanting to pay usurious fees to operate. I've been a long-standing member and that's just NOT the way to keep customers happy. </RANT> I'm done accepting Paypal for my auctions - PERIOD. I'd invite others to do the same. It's just not worth the hassle anymore.

I have the same gripes about PayPal. There cut is huge and it's a pain to use paypal with a personal account if you want to sell only a few things on ebay and such. I finally was forced to premium because I had a person send me a credit card transaction and I ether had to decline it or accept it and be forced into the upgrade.

What really pisses me off, with a personal account when you receive a bank account xfer or an xfer from another paypal account you don't get charged, but if you get an xfer for the same transaction's under a premium account you get charged the standard fee.

I sold an item for about $200 on ebay a while back. After paypal and ebay fee's, they added up to over $15 which is about 7.5%.

well, when i listed my auction, i had to pay for the added exposure (no pun intended) so it was like $20 just to have it listed in the "featured" section... by the time all the fees were paid it was like $40 and the auction went for 158.50... that's over 25%... but paypal is still the easiest way to take payment, so i know i'll continue to take it *sigh*

I've heard rumors that Google is looking into a payment system. This sounds wonderful for some competition.

Yep that would be great i heard the same too but i feel eventually Google will become as GREEDy as ebay. it may take time but it is inevitable!!!!

******** should be bringing some competition once word gets around =]

I use PayPal occasionally for when I sell and buy things on eBay. I can say that even though their cut is quite large, I've never had a problem with them and I've found it to be quite convenient. When I was learning the system, I called them a couple times and they had an American customer service center which was able to answer my questions. I remember I messed up a credit card payment on my first eBay sale by denying it or something.

I also have the PayPal debit card just for the hell of it. It gives me 1.5% back on everything I buy, which isn't bad at all since I don't have credit cards, too young. I transfer money from my checking account to it and then use the card for 1.5% off.

Not sure, I'll send a copy of your post over to Spoofee so we can find out why it's blocked. :)

Interesting... thanks for the insight dehawk.

Because it is a known scam and we have decided that we do not want posts from that site to be posted here. Plus everyone kept posting that site along with their referral id's, which is also against the forum rules. :(

Bidpay & Western Union, two things I don't accept, reason? No security & easy to fake.

I use auctioncheckout.com its quite simple to setup. I had a call from their rep to help me setup and i was up in 2 days.

however they charge $29 monthly fee, but the good thing is that there is no third party to go through, if there are any disputes merchant accounts go directly to you.

This gives you more of a opportunity to prove your innocence instead of just losing everything like paypal. Cause they dont dispute anything with merchants.

Use of PayPal Logos on eBay Auctions. In addition to the terms set out in Section V Part 5 of this User Agreement, when you display a logo on your eBay auction which contains the Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express logos, your PayPal account must accept payments made via credit card. You may edit your payment receiving preferences from your Profile.

As a side note if you want to display that you accept paypal the only option you have is to display the credit card logos.

has anybody used bidpay yet? pros and cons of it?
I used Bidpay, pro is there is no fee to send or accept. I guess the con is the security issue. But no fees are fine by me.
