After you edited my post, the direct link to the rebate form doesn't work. For some reason, direct links to Staples rebate forms don't ever seem work. I'm going to add the link & the info about the rebate number so folks will be able to find it.

Yes, you must install it first. I've got the 2005 version and it is fairly decent for accounting software. If you plan on reselling it, you probably won't get very much money since it would be registered to you.

make $30 for just buying it.

I buy these everytime they have them as FAR. Probably bought
about 20 in the last 3 years.

I've had better luck selling them at our local flea market
where I don't have to charge shipping and everyone else
throws them on ebay and there's too many for sale and
you'll be lucky to get $15-20.
 
You must open the package but you do not have to install in order to register it.

But BEWARE, I did this deal the last time it was on Spoofee and you cannot use Staples' EasyRebates on it. It is a Peachtree rebate.

I followed the instructions EXPLICITLY and sent in the form with everything required and the registration number and customer number (the 2nd of which was not required). I got a postcard saying that my rebate was not being paid because I didn't include the serial number. That was not requested on the original form. I sent back the postcard with the serial number on it. I'm waiting for my money.

Peachtree sucks on rebates. If you are going to do this include all three numbers on your form even if they are not requested. Serial number. Customer number. Registration Number. They're snakes.
