Who won ameican Idol...I don't watch it , but my daughter does...we have a bet about who can find out first using the internet....won't be announced for 3 hours here

Sparks fly: Jordin Sparks sang Christina Aguilera's "Fighter," Martina McBride's "Broken Wing," and the winner of the "Idol" songwriting contest, "This is My Now." While Simon awarded the first round of songs to Blake, Jordin's giant voice soared on her second two tunes. The difference between the two was especially notable when they both sang "This is My Now." Jordin's voice soared, she made listeners believe that she meant the song's lyrics, and she actually ended the song crying, though the tears didn't affect her voice. She deserves the title she earned, of youngest "Idol" ever.

Making beatboxing cool again: Blake Lewis may not have won, but if beatboxing makes a comeback on playgrounds across the nation, you know why. Blake sang "You Give Love a Bad Name," "She Will Be Loved," and the songwriting contest winner, "This is My Now." He shone most on the first song, during which he beatboxed and pulled out the creative tricks that kept him on the show all season. His other two songs didn't blow the judges and audience away the way that Jordin's did, but don't feel too sorry for the runner-up. He'll surely be the most popular with the teens who will flock to the "Idol" summer tour.
