Digital out and HDMI

Anyone know that if you send this TV only HDMI, will it separate the Digital audio from the HDMI signal and send it back out over the digital out line?

Thanks

I would imagine so. I don't know why it wouldn't. You would simply just need to hook your sound up to the digital audio output from the TV and wala!

This is 720p max, which means not true HD. On a TV this large its going to make a big difference in picture quality in compairison to 1080p.

Exactly what I was going to say. It's already realistically outdated. 720p or 1080i are an expensive compromise, even though there is little 1080p content available. It does seem that electronics dealers are pushing only pseudo HD equipment, but there is not an imperative rush to buy this equipment. Wait.

Don't plasma TVs suffer from burn-in's like crazy? I heard you only need to leave an image on for a minute before it gets burnt-in.

What about this comment posted by one of the reviewers:

"this TV can display up to 1080i resolution with an HDMI cable. IF the source your video is coming from can upscale to 1080i then the TV will display it. Our Time Warner Cable box is displaying in 1080i and it looks amazing on Hi-Def channels. And just to assure you, it says this in the TV's manual, we are not just assuming"
