I definitely agree with that.

I am already halfway on the 5 disc series via Netflix but considering the significant price drop, the endless hours of content, and the amazing content... I might just have to purchase it.

So far my favorite part is the bird that is ocd about being clean and his funny dance.

Amazon has some great stills, including the awesome shark 'jump'.

if I buy the HD version now even though I don't have HD tvs yet, will it still play well on a non HD television??

I'm thinking of getting the HD so when I do eventually upgrade I will have it in best format.

HD without HD

The short answer is 'no', you can't play HD-DVD or Bluray without owning an HD player and an HD television.

The longer answer is.. 'sorta, but why would you want to?' You'd have to replace your DVD player, as a normal DVD player isn't going to be able to read the Bluray or HD-DVD. Then, depending on the player, it might have an option to downconvert to a normal TV.. I've heard of such, but never owned something that did it. I'm pretty sure it would be either cropped, or squished horizontally, or stretched vertically.. to make an HD broadcast fit an old-style screen. And you'd be paying extra when you bought the HD DVD player for the fun of watching the electronic contortions you'd be putting the system through.

I personally think the jump into HD is best done with both feet, from a high platform, all at once.

You'll need an HD-DVD / Blu-Ray DVD-ROM in your system to be able to do that. IF youve got one, youre set, but your monitor may not be rated for HD.
