Hey all. Can you guys/gals please keep my hubby in mind tomorrow as he is having back surgery? He has a herniated disc that will be corrected. He's never had surgery or been under anesthesia before...and I think that is what has me so nervous. Procedure will be at 4pm tomorrow. Thanks so much

Prayers being sent for a safe procedure and a speedy recovery.:grouphug::prey:

I have you and your hubby in my prayers, Sun. :grouphug:

F.I.Y......I'm thirty seven and have two surgeries for herniated disc....finally they fused me:cry: I hope they fix his the first time...but if not, it will get better.

:grouphug: :canabis: *no weed here...I was just looking for smilies to put in this message and saw this one for the first time. LOL Thank you everyone for the well wishes...we're headed to bed now.

We will be praying for a successful surgery and a quick recovery...with or without the weed.

Hope all goes well today! :prey:

Any updates on DH? Jeb and I sincerely hope that you are both home, recouping, and resting comfortably! Hugs all way around to one and all! Rags:)

His surgery went well...the herniated disc, according to the surgeon was huge - I think he said 1.25 cm. Took about an hour. He has to stay the night because the surgery didn't get started until 5 pm. He was munching on a few ice chips when I left. He could barely keep his eyes open from the Phenergan (I love that drug!). I am home with the kids and will go back up to the hospital first thing in the morning. Thank you everyone.

I'm glad the surgery went well. I hope he recovers quickly & has less pain. :hugs:

:grouphug: for the Sunbeam family!

Holy crap...that is a good size herniation!! No wonder that poor man hurt!! PHEW!!! Bring on the drugs is right, he has earned them. Be careful bringing him home, and now hopefully you both can get some much needed physical, and, emotional rest. Just remember:
1) NO LIFTING
2)NO BENDING OVER
3)NO STRETCHING ABOVE THE HEAD
4)Keep the bowels open to prevent straining
5) No long rides in the car
6) Guys are horrible (we love them anyway) so make sure that he listens to the post op instructions. Keep a baseball bat handy at all times!
7) And most importantly, no sex from chandeliers or on the pavement for three months!

Chandeliers...no. Pavement...no. But what about in the holly bushes? Acupuncture freebie? I'm off to fill the scripts. Flexeril and Percocet. Hubby is already talking about going out to see Santa with the kids on Saturday. He's going to be sick of me nagging him about being cautious by the time this is over.
