Gameyeeeah.com has R4 DS Revolution for Nintendo DS for $35.95.

All you need to do is to buy a microSD card and fill it up with multimedia files, homebrew game roms and play them on your DS. Great way to combine all your DS games into one cartridge

Recommended : Buy more together with your friends to save on the unit price and shipping price.

1. Gameyeeeah.com Price : $35.95
2. Coupon Price : -5% | Code : gbatemp
3. Shipping cost starts at $5.50

Not a good deal at $40+ after shipping.. I got mine from dealextreme.com for $32.80 shipped last weeek. Works perfectly, and shipped quickly.

dealextreme and a few other places seem to be out of them due to a supply shortage. Assuming gameyeeeah actually has them on hand, this is probably one of the best deals available that has a chance of arriving before Christmas.

I bought an M3 DS Real flashcart from realhotstuff with 2nd day shipping for about $55 and it comes with a rumble pack unit. DealExtreme is great, though. If I had enough time I wouldve gone with them. They just take too long to get to me because a lot of their stuff ships from HK. I got 7.4v 900mah li-po batteries for $7.50 each from DealExtreme.

Did I mention Ive got 10 gigs of DS roms (USA format)?

DS Real is very nice, you can use hc cards, so you can put in 4 gigs. I have one but I wish they put the spring on it cause the card comes out sometimes but a tiny bit & has to be pushed back. But it does come with a rumble pack & the menu is easy to use.

Hmmm I'm been looking for something like this and considering it's for me I don't need it before christmas. I think I'll go ahead and order one through Dealextreme and just wait.

Mame?

Anyone seen anything related to running MAME or other emulators on the DS? I'd like to know more, and this method seems like a great way.

I LOVE my R4! It's a great investment and worth the convenience of playing a lot of games without changing out the cartridges!

Anyone play videos on their DS? WHats the resolution and format? I would especially like to hear from Morrie on this one as he uses a M3. Of course, I want to hear from anyone who uses their DS for movies, etc.

I have never heard of this. What exactly does it do and does it require some other kind of software?

We cant really say what it does. It falls into a grey area. The device is not illegal but almost everything someone would do with it might be. I suggest you look it up online. The M3 and the EZ Flash are very similar.

'Morrie on this one as he uses a M3. '

I have both the m3 Simply & the real. Both are nice. I haven't done videos on them.

Yes, they require software, but it's free.

Btw, white ones are chinese & black are USA.

I made sure to get the USA version.. I PMd you btw, regarding the file system. If you get a minute, take a look, wouldja?

My order says "pending" and when I placed the order through paypal(and used a CC) it said that my CC was over its monthly limit. Which its not. :sus:

Anyone else have any problems?

Any other links to the R4 with good prices?

Beh R4 has good compatibility, but not GREAT.

I have an Acekard RPG that has both 1GB of built in memory and a microSD card slot (with 4GB card in it, for a total of 5GB on hand with me, with 2000 on my PC for whenever I need them)

I hate how people feel like they always have to pussyfoot around when talking about homebrew, like the FBI is going to come and crack down on people playing games. They don't give a crap about the people who are playing them, it's the modders and resellers that they go after.

With that said, the R4 is just like the M3, which allows you to play homebrew code (apps written by people that play movies, have internet capabilities, and their own created games). They are also used to play "backup" copies of roms (IE downloaded copies of games), and play some emulators. It plays NES perfectly (with NESDS), Gameboy, Game Gear, and a handful of others.

Super fun awesome device. Highly reccomended!

mini wiki that could

I got the original M3 Perfect SD when it first came out and I have one of these [USA R4 from DealExtreme.Com] and I'd like to answer some people's questions.

THIS IS LEGAL, first off. There was a lawsuit trying to mark these as illegal but they aren't. They may or may not violate a deal that you may or not have with nintendo relative to using your NDS, that I don't know. I know that if you open up your Wii and put in a MOD CHIP and then a software update BRICKS your WII then tough luck. You violated your warranty by opening the case.

This is legal as the same way guns are legal. You can legally have one but what you do with it, and the legality of those actions, is up to you. I have tons of homebrew software for my M3 and plan on getting more for my R4. You can get linux, msn messenger, IRC, VoIP, web browsers, games, address books, PDA, learn other languages, emulators to play NES, GG, MS, MD, GB, GBA and SNES roms. You can also get NDS roms, too. One thing that is nice about that is my daughters quickly loose or break their NDS cartridges. This allows me to put the roms on the R4 so they don't loose them. I do the same with their audio cd's by ripping them with iTunes and placing them on their iPods (remember the Rio being sued for promoting copyright piracy when it [the first mp3 player] came out?!?).

If you do get this for NDS roms there is a nice program that shrinks the roms down. If a game is 130 mb's it goes on a 256 mb card and the rom is 256 mb's. I saved a lot of hard drive space (relatively so) with this program.

Other things that are nice about these is the ability to download/edit save games. I hacked some of my games so give me more money etc. The R4 also allows you to cheat in some games. One of the cheats in one of the racing games always gives you first place no matter how you finish! :claps:

I highly recommend this. BTW, you CAN NOT get this on dealextreme anymore. You have to go to their sister site VolumeRate.Com; which is sold out right now.

vyze, how would you compare M3 to R4? I am thinking of getting DSTT because of the quick loading. Thanks.

R4 = M3 Simply
M3 Real = M3 Simply plus some stuff like RAM, Rumble, and GBA expansion packs
DSTT = M3 Real plus faster

thanks for answering that for me, zdm.
I originally bought the R4 because that was what I could get. I went to gameyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah to get the R4 and saw that they had the M3 + rumble pack for $5 more... so I got that. The other reason I did that is so that I have an M3 Perfect, R4, and M3 Real. Think 3 is too many? I also have a launch date NDS (mine), plus my wife and our 4 year old asked for one for christmas so I got them both one. Think that's ridiculous? I have one nintendo wii for me (launch date) and one for the girls, too

The other reason that I got the M3 Real instead of a second R4 was incase of some homebrew only working on the R4 or M3 I have that covered. One of the downsides of my M3 Perfect is that I got the SD one which you can't write to with homebrew such as Linux making connecting to the internet a royal pain and handicapping homebrew such as day planners and ones that connect to the internet like WeatherBug and MSN Messenger.
