Could someone explain what this gadget does? How do you use it? Why do you need it? How do you connect it up? Where does it go in the signal path?

You load divx/ISO/VOB files on a hd & put it in this & watch them from it or watch Netflix, etc. Should be some reviews on the sales page.

Also comes with at free HDMI cable at this time.

Doesn't mention anything about Netflix compatibility. That would be nice to have. Also, now went up $!0 in price.

It does Netflix & streams stuff from your computer too, that's what it's ethernet port is for.
