Risky Deal - Radio Shack - Axion 3.6" Personal DVD Player for Free + Make $18

Radio Shack has the Axion 3.6" personal DVD player for free after rebates.

Note : YMMV because the $65 rebate states that it will supersede any other rebates sent.

Note2 : Make sure you pick up the UPC code written on the rebate form.

1. Click here to check for inventories near you.
2. Print this 10% off coupon
3. Go to your store and purchase one with the coupon.
4. Rebate1 Price : -$65.00 ( Send original UPC )
5. Rebate2 Price : -$70.00 ( Send copy of UPC )
Final Price : Free + Make $18

Check the UPC!!!

Axion LMD5369 3.6" has 2 different UPC codes, SKU is the same. in order to get both rebates you need the right UPC, the one on BOTH rebates!

I lucked out, the store had one of each so I got the "right' one ! :-D

This deal should be listed as YMMV because the small print on the $65 rebate clearly states:

"This offer supersedes any other rebate requests received and cannot be combined with any other offer"

I don't think they will honor both rebates. :(

i just called 2 local radioshaks, first one said they only have the UPC code that qualifies for the $65 rebate. the second one said the $70 rebate appeared due to a website glitch and the rebate is no longer valid... you guys better double check before you purchase...

both the rebates have 2 different offer numbers...is there a chance it might work due to this?

Well killer deal...the lady as radio shack said they were aware of the issue and were working to fix it....you guys think its worth it to try and mail both out...the screen quality is poor to say the least but for (18) who would complain?

BTW my upc is 040293009687 which is the one on both rebates

if the store sells agents are already aware of this issue and are being told the $70 rebate is no longer valid. what makes you think you can still get the rebate from the rebate center?

i guess just denial :) Plus if the rebates come in I thought theyd have to honor them to keep a good name knowing very well some people would be p-oed looks like back to the store to return :(

axion

don't think you can return the player without a UPC code? ah man i really want to get it...

THe value of your time is not zero

This is really bo--ooo--oooo--gus! Just a total waste of time. The original poster should be spoofee-pillaried! The very first reabate made clear it's not combinable with any other offer. The store is completely within it's rights not to honor the first and second rebates. It should never have been posted.

Gonna go for it

I've got a screenshot from the site clearly showing a -$5.01 price and listing both rebates on the screen. Don't back down! I was one of the folks who managed to get the 200 gig hard drive from Dell for $22 a couple years ago. My plan is to include both rebates and a copy of the screenshot when I send it in. Don't take no for an answer! :D

Yeah, you keep telling yourself that! :) Any, even very reputable company, has the right to terminate rebates and promotions without any warnings. The rebates also clearly say something to that effect, take a look and you'll see. So if your philosophy is: "hey, you promised me that for this much and you must honor it and can't lie to me", then you'll have your pride but not the rebate check. But, if you're willing to risk it - kudos to you :claps:

yah definitely post the screen shot if you could!!!! if you email it to me @

ADAMKPL (AT) GMAIL (DOT) (COM) i can host it for others

thanks

I just called RadioShack's Rebate Support line (1-888-326-6188) to check on the status of this rebate, with the following results:
  • Both Rebates WILL be honored
  • Both UPCs are valid for both Rebates, as long as the SKU is correct

Feel free to call and confirm for yourself.

I called rebate center on the form rep. said that if you have forms and you fill them correctly, then she won't see any point that you can't get them.... any ways.. best luck.

So?

So if that happens, you return it and take home the $65 for your trouble. Still not bad ?

Called customer service and they said they will honor both the rebates...

Images of the blah-blah-09687 code and the original listing online at RS showing both rebates are at a site named after a phonetically congruent misspelling of 'password'.

FWIW, a rep at web-rebates.com said that the upc ending in 04576 was also ok for offer 7762, the one for $70 that only specifies blah-blah-09687. Wish there were a way to get some ironclad assurance, but at least there's tons of time to figure it out ( submission deadlines: 31-Jan-2006 )
