I would be interested in seeing who rates the threads.
Is it possible that the ratings can be viewed with the raters names, like they do with the thanks?
It seems as though some of the people out there are just mean and have no reason to rate as they do. Either they do this because they are cowards or just don't like people.
I would like to acknowledge the good raters and find reasons for the bad.

I don't think there is a way of telling who rated.
Before I had signed in I rated this thread.
Maybe an IP address shows up??

Let it go.

This is the "Internet".

You'll never stop them.

I have asked "several" folks precisely what is a "rating" and how does one rate a thread. No, have not received an answer, but I think I figured it out.:) To my knowledge, you do not win a car or any candy! LOL While I understand how upset you are with regard to your beautifully written 9/11 thread, you have to know to that folks do have their own opinions...right or wrong. I now "assume" that the ratings are done annonomyously (sp who cares!) and again folks are going to exercise their opinion, and, freely. This rating thing falls into a popularity contests, along with the reputation points, thank you buttons, and, my beef on the same. Take them all away! If someone wants to thank you, let them, the reverse is true, if they want to bark about your posting/thread, let them do it by email. That should cut down on the nasty ratings. Guess I finally figured out what the hell all of those star things finally mean at the end of the thread and so far, I have not won a car, or any candy. :mmph: Then again, I have now only given out the stars so maybe I will win by the end of the week! LOL Don't sweat it Dbee, you are to sweet of a lady to worry on such trival matters. You "done good" with the 9/11 and everyone knows it.:hug::wave:

If we could see who rated what thread how many stars, wouldn't it be just about the exact same thing as the thank you button? Or the rep button? Hasn't there ever been a time when you wanted to rate a thread without everyone knowing who you were, having to answer to/or explain your opinion? I look at it as a way to say, "This is good" or "What a waste" without everyone who's opinion is different jumping an my a**.

And I wonder if people sometimes are just pushing buttons without thinking? This is the internet. I was recently playing a game with someone and wondering what the heck was up with them, and then I found out they were only 17. You just never know on the web.

Don't take it personally. Worry about those people in your life who's opinions really matter to you. The rest is just "virtual".

Or as I am fond of saying..."They are just dots on the screen, merely dots on the screen!" I hate to see someone this upset, we need cake!

For what it's worth, I only issue a rating if it is a good thread ( 4or 5 stars), otherwise I move along.

when you complain about the rating system in the thread itself, you take away from the original meaning of the thread..jmho

:teeth: I love cake

I only rate threads that I feel are good.:)
Thank you all for your support. I've decided that these people are cowardly and not worth my time. I will now focus on people that do make a positive difference in my life.

Most of the time I forget to rate a thread  I guess I better start doing it more often.
