A recall alert issued by Tylenol will no doubt be sending parents scrambling for their medicine cabinet this week, so Babble has pulled together the details of what you need to look for while you’re there.

The recall is not being advertised on the Tylenol Website or even the Food and Drug Administration site, so we went right to the source the Customer Care Center at Tylenol.

There they said the recall is only a “warehouse recall,” and store owners have already been advised to pull the drug from their shelves. They also directed doctors to pull sample bottles from their shelves. The best news? The drug is safe. It’s a voluntary recall, which according to NY Pediatrician Dr. Seth Gordon came because “examination of bulk raw material detected that one of the inactive ingredients contained gram-negative bacteria Burkholderia cepacia (B. cepacia). The portion of raw material in which the bacteria was found was isolated and was not used in the production of any finished product.”

That means there is no B. cepacia in any of the medicine bottles, and kids are safe. But parents have the option of calling Tylenol to see whether the bottle in their cabinet is part of the recall and get help in re-stocking their shelves.

I was raised with the ONLY aspirin being "St Josephs Aspirin for Children". I raised two kids and only gave them aspirin one time each and that was when their temps scared me and my wife. Personally I haven't taken an aspirin in 40 years. I understand that there are instances when it may be necessary but it's impossible that there are that many people who really need these products. I am honestly appalled at this volume of drugs available.

Good find, they a an article on the MSN webpage, 1 day after your alert.

I thought Tylenol was always the safest. I always used it for my kids. Haven't bought it in awhile since they are older. Companies just need to get their sh!!!t together..
