Anyone know how to sign up for breaking news alerts for sms. or have any good texting tips?

I did a google search and this is what I found:

FOX NEWS: http://www.foxnews.com/mobile/index.html
Once you go to that link ~ which is for Fox News mobile ~ there is a place on the left called Text Alerts.

That is as far as I went not knowing exactly what sms is and what you specifically are looking for.

scroll to the very bottom of the page, on the right side are options for IM, email, mobile etc.

You could probably go to your local news station and they most likely have something similar to offer.

I found an eaiser way to manage your text alerts. Instead of signing up for breaking news at one place and sports at another, etc.. You can register for a free twitter account and add all the updates you want to your twitter board. Then you can select what updates are sent to your phone and which ones just post to your twitter board. www.twitter.com
