I just bought a North Face sleeping bag there 2 days ago for $140. Now it's another 50% off. I called the store and they won't price match because when I bought it, it was 20% off, but said that I could return it (she said that they send all returns back to the warehouse, heh).

I went ahead and orded one online for $68, and I'm going to return the other one.

The clearance isn't just online, it's in the stores too - and REI always has a lot of clearance stuff in-store that isn't on the website.

Perhaps you aren't familiar with the merchandise to begin with. I've been shopping around for a Sierra Design tent for a while now, and if you go to froogle or amazon or wherever - the prices for REI normally are pretty competive, but with this sale - the Sierra Design tent is almost $100 less than what I could find online. Yes, this is a lot more expensive outdoor equipment than what you would get at a Sporting Goods store, but it's also very quality and specialized merchandise.

Anyway, going to pick up the tent tomorrow - looking forward to some fall camping with my two young boys!
