The rep points system makes NO sense whatsoever the way it's being used.
We need to limit rep points to the "Coupons" and "Free Goods" sections, and perhaps award a lot more points to someone who starts a thread in those sections (say 10 points per thread), than to people who merely add to it by clarifying something (say 1 point per post). This is what the other deal sites seem to do too, to avoid having people just rep their friends, which doesn't reward those who post the most deals OR help newcomers to the site figure out whose deals are good. I notice that some of the most frequent posters of deals have far fewer rep points than people who never or rarely post a deal. Does this make any sense?!!
In the same vein, you might want to consider making ratings for threads, rep points, etc. public rather than private so everyone can see which deals you liked and which you didn't like, or see which posts you repped.
