worry: Ok, Spoofers, I need your help with this one ....
It's certainly no secret by now that I'm a registered walker in the Boston 3Day event - 60 miles in three days with ALL funds to benefit Breast Cancer research and treatment through Susan G Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust. Since this is my first walk, I'm feeling a bit intimidated now by the fundraising aspect. Every registrant NEEDS to raise a minimum of $2,200. just to participate. Simply put, if I don't raise it, I don't get to walk (although whatever funds I do raise still go to the organizations. I want to be able to get a huge jumpstart on this so that I can have the minimum by June @ the latest so I can concentrate more on training and not have to worry about getting it done @ the last minute.

My situation is this - I've heard of restaurants (Sp?) that offer fundraising nights and donate a percentage of the profits to the designated recipient/sponsor/host, whatever! I've been browsing websites and have found a few that mention it and link to forms to request one but many restaurants don't even mention such programs on their websites. So far, the good leads seem to be Fudruckers, Friendley's, Pizzeria Uno and Applebee's. Has anyone had any experience doing this and was it worth the time and effort to do so? Do the restaurants offer only a percentage of profit from the just the people I would bring in, or the entire night's sales? What places would you recommend for such an event. I;m looking for a family-friendly place that is not too expensive yet not a fast food joint. Also, is it likely that they would donate to an individual like myself who's trying to raise funds for an organization rather than the organization itself hosting the event?

Arugh! Can anyone help??? :frusty:

mcdonald's does it too. we did it for our volleyball team

I know you said no fast food, but I'm pretty sure Chick-fil-a does something like that. Surely their food isn't any worse (health-wise) than a sit-down place.

I am like also to combine the reason of the cause with the place as my new campaign for breast cancer fundraising i will make it avon walk.
