When using your Kroger card, points card, reward cards, or whatever your local retailer labels them as when do you hand it to the cashier?

I usually have to hand it over at the beginning cause they always ask for it first @ our Kroger.

I'm usually at the beginning...every now and then, I forget and just do it at the end though.

reason...

The reason for my question is this... When I was at Kroger this evening, two of my products rang up wrong. I always give my card at the end because I like to see the total come down ( I'm weird like that ). When I went to the service desk to get my money back, I was told that it was my fault the items rang up incorrectly, because I gave my card at the end instead of the beginning of the transaction, and that I should always give it to the cashier first. So at this point I'm thinking what? :convinced:  It's your computer system and it shouldn't matter when I hand you my card. The items rang up wrong because of a pricing mistake.

What do you think?

I like to give mine at the end too - love to watch the total come down.
And you are right, it shouldnt matter because the card should work using it first or at the end. The SKI numbers are connected to the card system, so it had to be a pricing prob in the computer. That is my 2 cents ....

I miss Kroger though....

I usually do it in the beginning just because I tend to get distracted and would 'forget'. But there have been occasions that I'm still loading up the conveyor belt while the cashier is ringing so it's not given until the end of sale. Either way, the discounts come off and it kind of falls on the cashier to ask for for the card....JMHO
