is anybody out there making there own ring tones for thier phone?
if so what software are you using and how do you transfer it to your phone?(datacable)

i get the midi files from this site www.mididb.com

then i transfer them to my smartphone , for nokia u get the nokia suite from the nokia site

I use Motorola Mobile Phone Tools with my generic eBay USB cable to transform MP3 clips to the correct bitrate, and take little clips to transfer over to the phone.

Eric,

Where did you find the info on doing that? I have a v400 and I've been wanting to get different ring tones, but I don't want to pay the $5 or so per ring tone plus the air time to d/l em.

go to ebay and search for V400 DATA CABLE. and order the one that come with the software cd. try to get the OEM data cable. it will cost you around 27 bucks including the shipping. don't use buy it now. bid it when almost over, then you'll save like a buck ;) after you get it don't forget to update the software. the instruction will come with the order. BTW i'm not eric. :D
i have motorola V551
