Just got a new Dell Dimension 8400 and it has one SATA 160 gb hd in it.

Just because I have two burners in it, I can't put my old IDE HD in there, so I am looking for a good deal on a SATA hard drive.

It doesn't have a secondary IDE port? You should be able to put 4 IDE devices in any standard machine.

frys electronics is your best bet to get deals on hard drives without rebates. spoofee hasnt had a good hd deal in a while i think.

not on the new motherboards at least the dell ones. There is only one ide controller on the board, but there are multiple sata controllers. they are the way of the future. anyhow only problem with fry's is the shipping is way too expensive for me. I wish I was near an actual store. I occasionally check on http://www.pricewatch.com for some good deals from vendors but I didn't know if anyone knew of any specific sata hard drives or deals.
