SD/MMC Memory Card Reader for $1.95 Shipped

Sounded like a good deal until I read the Discussions at almost the bottom of the page, (First 1, trouble with). This was last November, but that worries me.
 
DO NOT BUY THIS. IT IS REALLY A PIECE OF CRAPPY PLASTIC.

You might think "hmm.. this will make good use of all the FAR SD cards I got." Well, I thought the same, so I bought it a while ago. After just two transfers, it died. I was glad that it didn't destroy my SD card that was plugged into it.

DealExtreme's deals all seem to be cheap in cost, but they are cheap in make and finish too. I would say avoid it at all if you can, unless you really have nowhere else to spend the two bucks.

I must agree on this also. I bought one of these about 9 months ago and it works, "sometimes" lol. Anyway it's hit or miss and I can never get it to be read as a USB 2.0 device it's always 1.x and extremely slow x-fer speeds. Save your $2.
